Visual reinforcement audiometry (VRA) is the gold-standard behavioural testing procedure for the assessment of hearing in infants and young children. It is the best practice test for children with a developmental age between 6 and 30 months old. Primarily a paediatric test, VRA can also have applications for older children with developmental delay, or adults with additional needs. This course will focus on best practice regarding the test environment and test technique, how to avoid common pitfalls and adjustments for complex needs testing. Case studies will be presented, with a view to discussing case management. A practical workshop will give you the chance to test your knowledge by critiquing real clinical practice.
